Joseph Gerard Sabatino – Foul Play Invite Postcard

Postcard I designed for the artist Joseph Gerard Sabatino’s exhibit entitled “Foul Play”. Photograph was taken by the artist, it features a detail view of a work in progress, dated back to 2012, consisting of wet industrial grade velvet cement encased in cured intestinal sheathes. Joseph took the photo using an iPhone. I used Photoshop to alter the colors with multi-layer effects and styles and added a distressed framed edge. For the back of the card I was inspired by Joseph’s text “It’s Raw. It’s Foul. It’s Filth” by taking a 1950’s Pulp Fiction magazine approach with the font choices as well as their placement.
